Here is a list of the most frequently asked
questions from our students. If your question cannot be answered here you can contact us with your enquiry.
Our Courses:
Will the course
suit my abilities? Most of our courses are structured so we
can accommodate students of all abilities so they can enjoy a creative
cooking session. Only a few of our courses are aimed at either
experienced cooks or absolute beginners but where this is the case it
will be stated in the course description.
How much cooking is involved in a day workshop?
The
day is usually split into two parts. The morning covers demonstrations and talks
by the tutor and the afternoon is a practical hands on session. In all the course lasts around six hours which includes time for lunch.
Do
you cater for vegans, religious diets and/or food allergies?
The majority of our courses will contain dishes which are vegan
adaptations although sometimes 100% of the recipes on the day cannot be
converted. Usually we can accommodate allergies or special religious
diets but need to review them on an individual basis to ensure students
don't book on an unsuitable course by accident. If you have a food
allergy and would like to book you can contact us on 0161 925 2014. Note
that you don't need to phone in advance for vegan diets just select the
option when registering.
Do you use Fairtrade products? We stock Fairtrade tea and coffee as standard in our school. Whenever possible we try to stock other Fairtrade produce such as sugar and fruit juice.
My
partner/friend/relative isn't attending the
course but would like to join us for the lunch. Can you accommodate
this? We do not offer this as standard but for a small fee
extra guests may be accommodated where advance notice is given and the
course numbers and theme allow for it. This is judged on an individual
course basis so please contact us if you would like a non-workshop guest
to join you and we will see if we can accommodate them.
Can I come and have a look around the school before
booking? Yes. If you have never been on a course before and
would like to get a feel for the school first this is no problem. You can come any time between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday and a member of the
Cordon Vert team will show you briefly around.
